Abstract
The paper presents the opinions of farmers receiving direct payments on financing of individual farms and spending their money on investments. The studies covered the method of the direct interview on the sample of 80 farms (located in Silesian Voivodeship), participating in the PL-FADN. It was presented that in the period before the introduction of direct payments for most farmers, the main method of financing the farms from external sources, they were preferential credits. In the period after the introduction of direct payments, farmers invested mainly for the purchase of machinery and equipment. The planned investments in buildings, structures, agricultural machinery and tools will refer to repair and modernization. The owners of large farms (both in terms of the area and the economic size) were highly interested in purchase of agricultural land and additional land tenure.
