Abstract
The overall risk management system in banks active in Poland will be a subject of evolution brought about by several factors. Basel III will play a key role among those factors. As a result of the said evolution, access to long-term financing might be difficult in Poland in the future. It might, in turn, adversely affect the commercial real estate market in a broad sense of the word. The negative sentiment in commercial real estate market in Poland might influence the overall macroeconomic situation in Poland. Long term sources of financing of bank’s credit activity should be promoted in Poland in order to avoid negative consequences of that process together with changes in the set of regulations related to commercial real estate market. Thanks to that policy, it will be possible to stimulate economically desired projects in Poland like communal flats built to let.
