Abstract
Effective corporate governance in the bank should provide a balancing of the interests of all stakeholders. Stability and security of the financial system is dependent on banking supervision, macroeconomic stability and effective corporate governance in the banking sector. Supervision of the banking market should lead to a situation in which the activities of the banks will be in accordance with applicable law and the principles of good banking practices. The article discusses the functioning of the banking market supervision. Attention has been paid to the problem of information asymmetry present in the bank and its possible solutions. The article also describes the importance and role of the banking sector.
