Abstract
The paper concentrates on the development of Warsaw Stock Exchange comparing to the situation in other European stock exchanges. In order to assess the growth of the stock exchange market key indicators of its maturity were used. In 2008-2012, the position of WSE were strengthened and development was dynamic. The Warsaw Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange financial instruments in Central and Eastern Europe and one of the fastest growing markets on the continent. The strong position of the Warsaw Stock Exchange due to the number of listed companies, capitalization, trading volume and the number of initial public offerings (IPOs).
