Abstract
The article presents some of the issues related to foreign direct investment (FDI) decision making process. The problems discussed in this article are presented in two main parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical considerations on the FDI decision-making process, with particular emphasis on the last stage of the process, i.e. the evaluation of the economic effectiveness. The second part presents the results of a survey conducted under research project N N112 322338 entitled “Investment activity of Polish enterprises abroad – factors and effects”, financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, decision 3223/B/H03/2010/38. It presents some of the issues related to evaluating economic effectiveness of Polish foreign direct investment projects.
